Currently in the library are Stoneguard and City of Stone – books one and two of The Iacean series – and the latest addition, Her Human Shadow.
Stoneguard follows the exploits of Kieft and Rianne, childhood friends from a backwater town under the oppressive regime of the Expatritors, a powerful warrior’s guild that rules in all but name. As things in their town turn sour, they are caught up in a plan to rid their land of the Expatritors – the main instigator being a former Expatritor himself – and discover the forgotten history of their people.
City of Stone continues the Iacean saga. Selcott, a wayward prince of Guithannan, unravels a scheme involving saexum – invaluable gems that are inextricably bound to individuals soon after birth. In his attempts to foil the plans, Selcott’s suspicions fall on both the Expatritors – the private organisation of warriors with immense political and social influence – and the Guithannan Army. He must ultimately assume the responsibility and reality of his royal heritage that he had always eschewed.
In Her Human Shadow, a dragon wreaks havoc on a frontier town – the only survivor is a young girl, Ceriana Brynmor. As she grows up, the memories of destruction are forgotten with barbarian invaders attacking her homeland. Ceriana and her childhood friends undertake training with a local huntsmaster who is also a master of the magical Inaya, and they are pulled into the maelstrom to save their nation.
